The Journal of Islamic Management Futures (JIMF) recognizes the growing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in academic research and scholarly publishing. JIMF permits the responsible use of AI tools in manuscript preparation, provided that their use does not compromise academic integrity, originality, transparency, authorship, or the reliability of scholarly work.

Authors may use AI-assisted tools for limited purposes such as language improvement, grammar correction, translation, formatting assistance, brainstorming, or other forms of editorial support. However, authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical standards of their submitted manuscripts.

AI tools, including generative AI systems, cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot take responsibility for the content, approve the final manuscript, disclose conflicts of interest, or meet the ethical responsibilities required of authors.

Authors who use generative AI or other AI-assisted technologies in the development of their manuscript should transparently disclose the use of such tools where they have materially contributed to the manuscript. The disclosure should identify the AI tool used and briefly explain its purpose. AI-generated content must be carefully reviewed and verified by the authors before submission.

Authors must not use AI tools to fabricate or manipulate data, generate false references, create misleading research findings, conceal plagiarism, manipulate images or research results, or otherwise engage in academic misconduct. Authors are responsible for verifying all factual claims, citations, references, data, and interpretations produced or assisted by AI systems.

Reviewers and editors must also maintain confidentiality when handling manuscripts. They should not upload or disclose unpublished manuscripts, confidential review materials, or sensitive editorial information to publicly accessible generative AI tools or other external AI systems that may compromise manuscript confidentiality.

The use of AI does not replace the intellectual responsibility of researchers, authors, reviewers, or editors. JIMF considers human scholarly judgment, critical evaluation, transparency, and accountability essential components of responsible academic publishing.

By submitting a manuscript to JIMF, authors confirm that the submitted work complies with this Artificial Intelligence Policy and that they remain fully accountable for the content and integrity of their publication.
