Copyright

Copyright of all articles published in the Journal of Social Transformation and Community Engagement (JSTCE) remains with the author(s).

Authors retain the full copyright and publishing rights to their work. By submitting a manuscript to JSTCE, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, and disseminate the article in electronic and other scholarly formats.

The publication rights granted to JSTCE do not constitute a transfer of copyright ownership from the author(s) to the journal or publisher.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts do not infringe the copyright or intellectual property rights of third parties.

All articles published by Journal of Social Transformation and Community Engagement (JSTCE) are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license, users are permitted to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes;

subject to the following conditions:

  • Attribution — appropriate credit must be given to the original author(s), a link to the license must be provided, and any changes made to the original work must be indicated.

Author Rights

Authors retain the right to:

  • retain copyright ownership of their published work;
  • share and disseminate their published article;
  • deposit the article in institutional, subject-based, or other appropriate repositories;

  • include the article in a thesis, dissertation, book, or other scholarly publication;
  • create derivative works based on the article; and
  • reuse their work in accordance with the terms of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Attribution Requirement

Any reuse, reproduction, distribution, or adaptation of an article published by JSTCE must appropriately acknowledge the original author(s) and publication.

Attribution should include, where applicable, the author(s), article title, journal title, publication year, DOI or permanent article link, and a statement indicating the applicable CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Third-Party Materials

Materials included in an article that are owned by third parties, including photographs, figures, tables, datasets, or other copyrighted materials, may not automatically be covered by the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Where applicable, third-party materials will be identified through an appropriate credit or copyright statement. Users are responsible for obtaining permission from the relevant copyright holder when required.

Open Access and Licensing

JSTCE is an open-access journal committed to the broad dissemination and reuse of scholarly knowledge. The CC BY-SA 4.0 license allows readers, researchers, educators, practitioners, and communities to access, share, and adapt published research while ensuring proper attribution and requiring derivative works to remain under the same license.
