All articles published by the Journal of Social Transformation and Community Engagement (JSTCE) are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

The license grants users worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, and irrevocable rights to share, copy, redistribute, remix, transform, and build upon the published material, including for commercial purposes, provided that the terms of the license are respected.

1. Attribution

Users who share or adapt material published by JSTCE must provide appropriate credit to the original author(s). The attribution should include, where reasonably practicable:

• the name(s) of the author(s);
• the title of the article;
• the name of the journal;
• the publication year;
• the DOI or permanent article link, where available;
• a reference or link to the CC BY-SA 4.0 license; and
• an indication of whether any modifications were made.

Attribution must not suggest that the original author(s), JSTCE, or the publisher endorses the subsequent use.

2. ShareAlike

If a user remixes, transforms, or builds upon material published by JSTCE and distributes the resulting adapted material, the adapted work must be distributed under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 license, or a compatible license permitted under the terms of CC BY-SA 4.0.

Users may not impose additional legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the license.

3. Duration of the License

The CC BY-SA 4.0 license applies for the duration of the applicable copyright and related rights in the published work.

The permissions granted under the license are intended to be irrevocable, provided that users comply with the license terms. If a user violates the license conditions, the licensed rights may terminate automatically. Rights may be reinstated when the violation is appropriately cured in accordance with the terms of the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

4. No Additional Restrictions

Users may not apply additional legal terms or technological measures that restrict others from exercising the rights granted under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

The license does not grant rights to trademarks, patents, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other rights beyond the copyright and related rights that the licensor is legally authorized to license.

5. Third-Party Materials

Materials contained within a published article that are identified as belonging to third parties may not automatically be covered by the CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

Users are responsible for determining whether additional permission is required before reusing third-party materials, including photographs, figures, tables, datasets, or other copyrighted content.

6. Author Rights

Authors retain copyright ownership of their articles. Publication in JSTCE does not constitute a transfer of copyright ownership to the journal or publisher.

By publishing their work under CC BY-SA 4.0, authors authorize the public to reuse and adapt the article under the terms of that license while retaining the right to be properly acknowledged as the original author(s).
